Skill training for women kicks off at Lhunnajang

One month intensive skill training course on Tailoring for women was kicked off from today at Lhunnajang Village in Chandel District by Rev..SVaiphei, Pastor Methodist Church Molnoi Area.
The training programme is being organised by Centre for Women and Girls (CWG) in collaboration with Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA), India and Control Arms Foundation of India (CAFI) with the support of ECHO through ADRA, Germany in Manipur and Tripura.
While briefing the media persons, Ms.Hechin Haokip, Secretary of Centre for Women and Girls( (CWG) said that, "The objective of the training is to develop the skill of the young widows and school drop-out girls who are the survivors of armed conflicts and gender based violence victims to improve their livelihood" .
As the first batch of the training, 11 young women and girls from different villages of Chandel District will be imparted training on tailoring.
