Drivers untraced

Two drivers reportedly abducted sometime on Saturday last from Lamzang area here for ransom remain traceless even as the trucks that were taken along by the armed men have been recovered later today.
Dar Singh (40) of Irilbung and Open Singh (35) of Changarel-Sawombung both belonging to Imphal East district were abducted on December 15 evening by unidentified armed men on a ransom of Rs 2.5 lakh from the family.
Informed sources said that the kidnappers have made the demand through a mobile phone and that the family had taken the case to the police only yesterday, reports our CCpur correspondent.
As the case has been reported to the Police, a team of the police led by SP Churachandpur, LM Haokip and another team from the 7AR led by a Major started a massive search ops today leading to the recovery of the recovery truck but the team could not immediately succeed in rescuing the missing duo.
The truck according to Police has been recovered from a secluded location about 10 kms west of Buongbal.
Though the police were tight lipped on the suspects behind the kidnapping, sources said a factional group that was not presently under SoO could be responsible for it.
