Bharat Nirman Campaign concludes

Heirok, December 19 2013:
A three-day long Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign (PIC) concluded successfully along with a valedictory function at Fine Society Ground at Heirok in Thoubal district this afternoon.
The campaign was organised by Press Information Bureau (PIB), Imphal in collaboration with Directorate of Field Publicity, Directorate of Advertising & Visual Publicity, Song and Drama Division, All India Radio and Doordarshan.
The other coordinating agencies included District administration, different departments of government of Manipur and Fine Society Heirok.
Heirok Zilla Parishad member Shreemayumongbi Dineshwori Devi was the chief guest of the valedictory function while Chairperson Laishram Jiban Singh of Heirok Nagar Panchayat presided over the function.
Pradhan Thokchom Dharmendra of Heirok Part II Gram Panchayat was also present on the occasion as Guest of Honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Dineshwori expressed happiness over the holding such an important campaign which provides awareness on central government's flagship programmes in Heirok village.
She also elaborated on the functioning and its activities of Heirok Zilla Parishad for the welfare of the Heirok village.
Laishram Jiban also shared a similar sentiment in his presidential speech.
Pradhan Dharmendra also spoke on the occasion.
Earlier highlighting the objective of organising PIC in her opening remark, Media and Communication Officer Premlata Loitam of PIB Imphal said that the campaign is organised to make aware the importance of the central sponsored flagship programmes while S Mathew in charge of Directorate of field publicity Churachandpur delivered welcome address.
As part of the valedictory function, three babies who stood first, second and third positions in the healthy baby competition held on the second day of the campaign were honoured with cash prizes of Rs 2000, Rs 1500 and Rs 1000 and citations.
The award winning babies are 11-month old Y Josh, son of Y Echan of Thoubal Haokha; 5 and half months old L Thoi, son of L Mandadori Devi of Wangjing Sorokhaibam Leikai and 7 and half months old N Borish, son of N Inaobi of Heirok Part-I.Different state government department's officials who display various government sponsored development activities through 24 stalls during the 3- day long campaign were also honoured during the valedictory function.
The closing function was also marked by a magic show by Imphal Artistes Union artistes and a theme play on HIV/AIDS by Mass Theatre Paona Bazar Imphal artistes.
A large number of villagers of Heirok and its neighbouring villages attended the closing function.
