IIIT Manipur bids adieus to Maharashtra team

Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Manipur on Friday bid farewell to the 40 students, three faculties and four student volunteers from Maharashtra who had come on an exposure tour to Manipur under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) Yuva Sangam pilot initiative of the Government of India.
In a release, IIIT, Manipur Yuva Sangam PRO Dr Moirangthem Dennis Singh informed that the delegates who left for Maharashtra on a flight had arrived on February 27.During their tour, they visited Laishram Sarita Devi Boxing Academy, Kangla Fort, Saheed Minar, Mapal Kangjeibung, Ima Keithel, Olympian Park at Sangaithel, Marjing Sagol Kangjei Mitam at Marjing Polo Complex, Keibul Lamjao National Park, Loktak lake, Govindaji Temple, Khongjom War Memorial complex, etc., and also interacted with students of Eminent School, Khoijuman in Bishnupur district as a buddy visit programme of the tour.
The students and the faculty members also had the opportunity to meet with chief minister N Biren and Rajya Sabha MP and titular king Leishemba Sanjaoba at Govindaji Temple.
Concluding the exposure tour on Friday, the Maharashtra team had a shopping session at Paona International and Ima markets.
The Maharashtra team arrived here to reciprocate the recent visit of Manipuri students to Maharashtra under the same EBSB programme, which is being conducted by the Union Ministry of Education in collaboration with various other ministries and departments such as culture, tourism, railways, information & broadcasting, youth affairs & sports, home affairs, department for development of north-east region (DoNER) and IRCTC.
IIIT, Manipur was the coordinating institution for the state of Maharashtra, it said.
