Taking part in the discussion, MLA Ranjit recalled the order issued by both the Central and state governments to ban single use plastics under 75 micron including certain disposable products made of plastic such as straws and water bottles of less than 1 litre capacity.
In the initial stage, Manipur Pollution Control Board took up strong measures to enforce the ban but the effort turned out to be temporary.

He further said that law and order situation in Chandel and Chakpikarong areas was unstable before 2000.Armed groups even burnt Sugnu police station for refusing to pay extortion from the salaries of the police personnel posted there.
As a result, the PS remained deserted for around a decade.

He also pointed out that foundation stone for Kakching Khunou Municipal Council building was laid by the chief minister on January 19, 2021 and urged the CM to give an approximate time for commencing the construction work.
In April 2022, a strong windstorm left a trail of destruction in Pangaltabi and Chairen GP areas and the CM assured of providing financial assistance to the affected families, he recalled and sought information on the financial assistance given.
He also drew attention of the House for having at least 20 sittings in future assembly sessions for elaborate discussion important issues.
