Kangpokpi, March 03 2023:
The non-SoO Kuki National Front-Nehlun (KNF-N) has clarified that Seiminlal Dimngel alias Lalboi alias Michael, son of Paokhohao Dimngel of Saijang village in Kangpokpi district, who was arrested on February 26 from Churachandpur district, is not an active cadre of KNF-N.In a statement, KNF-N information and publicity secretary Gou alias Kuki contended that report regarding the arrest of Seiminlal as an active cadre of KNF-N came as a shocking news to the outfit as there are no cadres of KNF-N by the said name.
However, following the allegation, an investigation was conducted to unearth the fact and it came to light that Seiminlal Dimngel was detained by cadres of a SoO signatory group when he along with his family went to Churachandpur in connection with a family event and was later handed over to the security forces, he added.
Gou also noted that based on police report print and electronic media published/broadcast the next day that he was an active cadre of KNF-N involved in serving demand letters to businessmen and shop owners in Saikul areas.
Strongly denying the report, KNF-N clarified that Seiminlal was never part of the organisation and it has nothing to do with him.
The secretary also claimed that it was purely the sinister plan of SoO groups to tarnish the image of KNF-N, as the allegation of Seiminlal as KNF-N cadre is a baseless and uncorroborated made-up story.
He further warned that no groups or individuals should repeat such malicious claims in future.
