CM thanked for helping Kohima vendors

The Mao community and people/vendors affected by the inferno at Kohima Mao Market expressed their heartfelt gratitude to chief minister N Biren Singh for sending relief materials to the families of the incident which took place on late evening of February 27 .
In a statement, they deeply appreciated the chief minister of Manipur for the magnanimity and humane gesture that was extended to the affected families and individuals.
It may be recalled that the devastating fire completely destroyed the 7-storeyed Mao Market Complex having 91 shops, its nearby NM Complex with 66 shops, houses of 17 neighbouring families, and a portion of T Khel Market at Kohima, Nagaland.
The unfortunate incident affected many families and individuals whose livelihoods depend on the markets.
The Mao Market Complex, NM Complex and T Khel Market housed vegetable and fruit vendors, second-hand shops, garment shops, hardware shops, tailoring shops, beauty parlours and many other stores catering to the varied needs of the Nagaland state capital.
