Pre-recruitment training, security meet conducted

Imphal, June 10 2022: Keithelmanbi Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a pre-recruitment training for local youth in Thoubal district on Friday to scout for suitable candidates for recruitment rally in the Armed Forces.

In all, 66 boys and 33 girls of Thoubal and neighbouring districts were given training to ascertain physical standards suitability in recruitment rallies, said a release of PRO IGAR (S) .

The PRO also informed that Keithelmanbi Battalion organised an interaction with Ex-servicemen (ESM) and meira paibi members of Thoubal district on Thursday which had a healthy participation of ESM and local meira paibi.

The meet focused on measures to empower youth and women and also provided the platform for discussion of various issues being faced by the ESM and meira paibi of Thoubal district.

The gathering appreciated the sustained efforts of Assam Rifles in maintaining security and peace in the area, the PRO said.

Meanwhile, Chassad Battalion of IGAR (S) organised security and coordination meet at Aishi, Phaikeh and Kamtong villages in Kamjong district on Thursday and Friday.

Village representatives including village authorities and youth actively participated during the meets which provided the platform to discuss and inform the villagers about the current political climate and need to uphold the security within the region.

Various career opportunities for the students in Defence Forces and sports were also discussed.
