Union minister meets eminent citizens

Imphal, June 10 2022:
Union minister of state for youth affairs & sports Nisith Pramanik interacted with eminent personalities of Manipur in the held of sports, art & culture, and social service at Hotel Imphal here on Friday.
During the interaction programme, awardees in various fields highlighted some key points and sought the help of the minister for opening of a sports coaching centre, implementation of sports policy and improving Manipuri dance, culture, etc.
The union minister told the gathering that the country is targeting to set up 1000 Khe-lo India centres by 2024 after the introduction of Khelo India initiative under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's keen initiative.
So far, the government has set up 540 Khelo India centres in the country and the government is planning to allocate adequate number of centres in Manipur as well.
Altogether 21 awardees in different fields, including three awardees from handloom & textile category; three Sangeet Natak Aeademi awardees; three awardees from social welfare category, eight awardees from sports and three awardees from NYKS, attended the inter action programme.
