KIYG: Rohit, Roshibina claim bronze medals on Day 1 of judo competition

Imphal, June 10 2022:
Manipur added two more medals on Friday as Ningthoujam Rohit Singh and Mutum Roshibina Devi bagged bronze medals on the first day of the Judo event at the Khelo India Youth Games.
Ningthoujam Rohit took his bronze medal in the U-18 boys' -50kg event.
He shared the third place with Rahul of Madhya Pradesh.
Anurag Sagar of Delhi bested Prakashbhai of Gujarat in the summit clash.
Mutum Roshibina, on the other hand, finished third in the U-18 girls' -44kg contest for her bronze.
Jaanvi of Delhi defeated Simran of Haryana in their final duel as Radhika of Punjab also bagged bronze medal.
Manipur continue to stay third in the medal table with 20 medals, following the Friday's results.
13 gold, three silver and four bronze make up the state's medal haul till the seventh day of the 4th edition of the Khelo India Youth Games held at Panch-kula, Haryana.
The bulk of Manipur's gold medals came courtesy of Thang-Ta competition where they won nine gold coupled With two silver.
A rich medal haul in Thang-Ta was backed by two gold and one silver in cycling, one gold in athletics, one gold and one silver in weightlifting, two bronze in judo and one bronze and wrestling.
Hosts Haryana are leading the medal standings with 35 gold, 28 silver and 36 bronze medals and Maharashtra are closing in on with 33 gold, 28 silver and 25 bronze medals.
