Loans provided to widowed handloom weavers of Langthabal AC

Langthabal AC MLA Karam Shyam has categorically stated that Manipur will remain as an underdeveloped State until and unless the economic status of women and youths are strengthened.
The above statement was made by the MLA today while speaking as the chief guest at the loan distribution programme to 100 widowed handloom weavers held at Lilong Chajing Mairenkhong Community hall.
The loan distribution programme was organised by Youth Development Council (YDC), Langthabal Assembly Constituency.
The MLA stated that over the past five years, a huge amount has been provided as loans to youths and entrepreneurs through YDC.
Loans are being provided to widowed handloom weavers with an aim to enhance the economic status of youths and women inorder to strive for a developed society, he added.
Karam Shyam went on to inform that a loan amount of Rs 10, 000 each will be provided and the loanees can pay the loan amount without any interest on the basis of Rs 1,000 per month for ten months.
He further stated that with the help of YDC, loan will be provided to around two selected persons per polling stations and appealed to all the loanees to use the loan amount wisely and pay it on a regular basis so as to give opportunities to others as well.
He also assured to extend best possible help from his end to help those loanees who wish to take loans from the banks and apply in Manipur Start Up Scheme.
The programme was also attended by advisor and central committee members of YDC as presidium members.
