Priyojit hits ton as TRAU outplay PTRC by 40 runs

Imphal, June 10 2022:
TRAU (Kwakeithel) produced an all-round performance to beat PTRC (Patsoi) by 44 runs in the 6th MNCA W Prahlada & W Ramananda Elite Tournament at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium on Friday.
Powered by Priyojit Kangabam's blistering 121 off 93 balls, TRAU posted a massive total of 234/5 in 38 overs after they had elected to bat first.
Other contributors in the innings were Rahul Rajkumar (25), Dr Siddarth Shah (22), Behul Moibungkhongbam (20) and Anand Naorem (13).In their response, PTRC wilted under pressure and ended up managing 190 after they were bowled in 35.1 overs as fighting efforts from Chingakham Bidash Meitei (45) and Ngariyanbam Jameson (39) weren't enough.
Ngariyanbam John son (23) and Raj Kumar Rex (22) also made decent con tributions in their futile run chase.
Puinachandra Sharma Anoubam and Dr Siddarth Shah stole the show in TRAU's attack that saw the duo finish with three wickets each as Sn Maniakash Kumar, Priyojit Kangabam and Bijen-kumar Nongmaithem took one wicket apiece to help their side seal the victory.
Earlier, Raj Kumar Rex picked up three wickets and Abit Hijam claimed one for PTRC, who despite their defeat, stayed atop Group A league table with six points from four matches while TRAU occupied second spot with four points from two matches.
With his 121 runs and a wicket, Priyojit Kangab am earned the man-of-the match accolade.
Saturday's action will see Model square off with REYS.
