Lectures, yoga session conducted

Churachandpur Battalion of 1GAR (South) conducted an awareness lecture as part of 'Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan Campaign' on drug abuse for local youth at Hengkot village in Churachandpur district on Friday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the lecture was organised to cultivate awareness to youth about social, mental, physical and psychological effects of drug abuse and importance of sports, physical fitness to fight against drug menace.
The lecture was followed by an interactive session in which queries raised by the youth were answered, and guided and encouraged to aim for future recruitment rallies in Armed Forces.
On the other-hand, Loktak Battalion conducted lecture on Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana at Tuibong village in Churachandpur district on Friday to educate the local about health scheme launched by the government for economically weaker sections of the society.
In another release, the PRO informed that Mantripukhri Battalion conducted a yoga session to commemorate the 8th International Day of Yoga, 2022 at CRYDA (College Road Youth Development Association), Singjamei in Imphal West district on Friday.
The event was organised to spread awareness and benefits of yoga among the people with emphasis on flexibility, strength and endurance being achieved through yoga.
CRYDA members appreciated the efforts of the Assam Rifles in promoting yoga in the school and urged to conduct similar sessions in the future.
A total of 16 CRYDA members attended the session, the PRO added.
