KSA condemns assault on its members by teachers

Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) has strongly condemned the alleged physical attack on its members by teachers of Nepra Company Primary school, Thoubal.
A press release issued by Secretary Publicity of KSA said that a team of KSA inspected the functioning of Nepra Company Primary School, Thoubal on August 16 last following requests from guardians and local people of the area.
As the team did not find any teacher attending classes and as there was no sign of providing mid-day meal to the students, the students' team locked the school up on that day.
Following the incident, KSA convened a meeting with the head master of the school at its Thoubal District Council office to discuss matters for improvement of the school, but the headmaster did not turn up, the release said.
Later, when the KSA team went to the school to meet the teachers, headmaster N.Yaiskul bluntly asked the team, "Don't you know that I am a member of PLA who had been in jail for 3 years ?", narrated the KSA release, adding that the teachers present there began to attack the KSA team.
Mentioning the names of the teachers who allegedly attacked the team as N.Yaiskul (Thoubal Achouba), S.Mohon (Thoubal Sabal Tongba), Kh.
Brajamani (Charangpat), S.Memton (Nepra), E.Jayarani (Nepra), L.Sanamacha (Yairipok Kekru), Jiten Thongam (Thoubal Athokpam), L.Premapati (Charangpat Maning Leikai), W.Tamu (Charangpat) and A.Bishworjit (Thoubal Khekman), the KSA has asked the teachers to come to its head office at Takhel Leikai Imphal on August 23 at 11 am for clarification.
The students' Association further warned that the said teachers should be ready to face any eventuality if they fail to turn up.
