AR arrests UG, seizes wildlife products

Imphal, October 27 2014: Troops of the 24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) established a vehicle check post at Sita and apprehended one KCP cadre on Oct 26, according to a release of PRO, IGAR (S) .

The arrestee identified as SS No 393, L/Cpl, Miss Keisam Kabita Devi, aged 20 yrs, D/o Mr K Ibopisak Singh, resident of Uyumpok Mamang Leikai, at Pangei in Imphal East, was traveling in a Gray coloured Maruti Van bearing Registration Number MN � 07D 0694, and heading towards Imphal.

One Aadhar card and a mobile phone were recovered from her possession.

The apprehendee alongwith the recovered items has been handed over to the Singjamei Police Station.

Meanwhile, troops of the 24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) apprehended five individuals alongwith banned wild life products at Khudengthabi check post on 26 Oct 2014.The apprehendees were idintified as Mr S Mangminlian, aged 31 yrs, S/o Mr Sinminthang, resident of village- T Khajang, PO- Sumchinvum, PS/Dist - C'C Pur, Mr Md Ibrahim, aged 52 yrs, S/o Late Mr Md Salaodin, resident of village- Lilong Haoreibi Turel Ahanbi (A), PO/PS � Lilong Dist - Thoubal, Mr Moirangthem Jatishwar Singh, aged 35 yrs, S/o Mr Iboyaima Singh, resident of village � Thanga Moirangthem Leikai (B), PO/PS/Dist � Bishnupur, Mr Phijam Ranjit Singh, aged 36 yrs, S/o Late Ph Babudhon Singh, resident of village � Khurai Puthiba Leikai, PO/PS?Dist � Imphal East and Mr A Ngamsei, aged 85 yrs, S/o Late Mr Jangkhongam, resident of village � Moreh Ward No � 1, PO & PS � Moreh, Dist � Chandel.

18 numbers of Tiger teeth (Canines) (estimated cost rupees 50 lacs), 120 gms Heroin, one Tokay Gecko, one Aadhar card, one mobile phone and three Voter I/Cards were recovered form their possession.

The apprehendees alongwith the recovered items have been handed over to the Forest Department, Imphal/NCB, Imphal.
