Imphal, August 23 2026: Thanga AC MLA Tongbram Robindro Singh has called for exploring alternative forms of democratic agitation instead of frequent bandhs, general strikes and blockades.

He was speaking as chief guest at the grand launching of the Singjamei 360 Digital Yellow Pages App at Hotel Imolesh, Old Lambulane Road today.

Robindro said concerns and demands should be expressed through democratic means while avoiding actions that bring normal life and economic activities to a standstill.

"Is there any other way of expressing our concerns apart from bandh, general strikes and blockades?" he asked.

He said repeated bandhs and blockades adversely affect businesses, daily wage earners and the overall economy, besides causing inconvenience to ordinary people.

The MLA urged stakeholders to sit together, discuss their concerns and seek solutions through dialogue and mutual understanding.

"Let us sit together, find a solution and move forward together", he said, stressing the need to explore other forms of democratic protest that can effectively communicate people's concerns without causing hardship to the public.

The launch programme was attended by Dr Thangjam Dhabali Singh, chairman of Babina Group; Dr Wahengbam Indibar, MD and consultant of Suba Hospital & Assisted Reproductive Centre; and Dr Dhanabir Laishram, advisor, Singjamei 360, among others.
