Imphal, November 29 2021:
While remarking that the withdrawal of the three anti-farm laws is a massive victory for farmers across the country, Communist Party of India-Manipur State Council (CPI-MSC) secretary L Sotinkumar has stated that the scrapping of the three laws is a huge defeat for the PM Narendra Modi-led BJP government.
Addressing a press meet held at Irawat Bhawan here Monday, Sotinkumar attributed the BJP government's withdrawal of the three anti-farm laws to its consecutive defeats/losses in the recent by-elections in several states arid realisation of facing similar outcomes in other states where elections are round the round.
It would not be wrong to presume Modi's overwhelming support for the wealthy strata and the Sangh Parivar's motive to blow the winds into a different direction.
If the people were to remain silent, the constitution and secular nature of the country would degenerate.
Thus, he urged all concerned to prevent the return of BJP government in the state and the country.
Responding to a reporter's query with regard to the upcoming polls, Sotinkumar informed that CPI would be fielding candidates in some constituencies.
The party would also sign pre-poll alliance with the other political parties to defeat BJP, in addition to working with the parties under an understanding, he conveyed.
