Imphal, March 26 2015:
All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) has expressed dismay with the increasing cases of crimes and violence in the State.
Decrying the horrifying incidents, AMSU Headq-uarters General Secretary Manjit Sarang-them in a press note stated that even though there is perceptible increase in the deployment of security personnel, there has been no decline in the incidents of crime/violence related cases.
AMSU has also questioned how the people of the state will lead a normal life in such a violent environment.
The student body asked if the people of the State are truly enjoying the Fundamental Rights provided under the Indian Constitution when basic human rights are trampled upon.
The Union also alleged that efforts to protect the indigenous population are hindered by few "selfish motives" targeting civilians especially labourers using bombs and guns.
A larger section of the society is hit by an economical crisis and even the educated ones have been forced to opt for menial jobs to earn their livelihood.
On the abduction of two labourers - YK Danen Thangal and Bidur, AMSU asked the responsible groups or individuals to explain their motives.
The student body has sought the support of the people in the release of the abducted.
