Cabinet to discuss ADC polls today

Imphal, March 26 2015:
Manipur State Cabinet will be holding a meeting on Friday to discuss the forthcoming Autonomous District Council (ADC) election to likely be held in May.
Earlier on Monday, a State cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister O Ibobi had reportedly decided to conduct the ADC polls in the month of May.
Following the decision, the Government has instructed the State Election Commission to begin preparation so that the election is completed within the stipulated time.
During the proposed Cabinet meeting on Friday, the cabinet will also discuss other issues.
The agenda prepared by Chief Secretary PC Lawmkunga include appointment of family members of five police personnel who were killed in the ambush on December 25, 2014 at Nongren Chinglak under Lamlai Police Station under Die in Harness (DIH) scheme.
The other issues the cabinet was likely to discuss in the meeting include appointment of a person as Assistant Sub-inspector of Police on compassionate ground; engagement of one Wushu Coach on contract basis; engagement of one retired senior Youth Officer as State Liaison Officer (NSS) on contract basis; extension of gap period of Adhoc service of 18 direct Adhoc employees and payment of pending pay and allowances; engagement of contractual staff members under IT enabled dedicated Cell of Multi-Sectoral Development Programme (MsDP) under the Revised Guidelines during 12th Plan and Fixation of pay/remuneration and utilisation of ITI Lilong, Thoubal District to train youths in various skill development on pilot basis.
