SOAR educates on child trafficking

Imphal, March 26 2015:
A district level seminar on child trafficking was organised by SOAR in collaboration with Tangkhul Shanao Long (TSL), during its 38th annual conference, at Kamjong yesterday.
The seminar was held under the sponsorship of Tribal Research Institute (TRI), Manipur.
Chingya Luithui, a legal expert and convener (South) of Naga People Movement for Human Rights spoke as the resource person.
He talked on child trafficking from the social and legal perspectives while also dwelling on laws and legislations regarding child trafficking, Juvenile Act, educational rights of children and freedom of expression.

The seminar was moderated by Chonchui, general secretary of TSL.
Around 400 women from around 80 villages participated in the seminar, a statement informed.
At the same time, the organisers expressed their sincere thanks to Siddharth Verma, Principal Secretary (H&TD), Solomon Zingkhai, Jt Director, TRI and all the participants.
