Bpr, December 20 2021:
Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president and Nambol MLA N Loken Singh has said that the present BJP-led government even stopped media houses from news publication/production as it could not clear advertisement dues worth more than Rs 10 crore.
N Loken stated this during a one-day political conference of the Congress party organised by Nambol Block Congress Committee in coordination with Kongkham Awang Youth Congress Committee at Kongkham Awang Leikai public hall on Monday.
Addressing the congregation, N Loken said that Congress could not be excluded while discussing history of India while BJP scheming to create divisions in the country.
It is only 13 years that the past BJP government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the present one led by Narendra Modi ruled the country.
Though Narendra Modi grew up as a tea stall runner, he is now friend of the richest men of the country including Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani and his privatisation policy favouring these wealthy men have brought immense suffering to common people, Loken said and further alleged that BJP is a party which breaches norms of the Constitution and it was during the time of Manmohan Singh-led Congress government that RTI was implemented in the country.
Noting the visit of Union ministers to the state one after another without any purpose but for election campaign, the MPCC president said that the success in election lies with people of the state and not by the number of trips of Union ministers.
He then appealed to people not to trust false promises given merely for election.
Loken also has alleged that BJP government has been spending huge public money on publicity.
The MLA said that the BJP-led government is brave only in making claims without doing anything.
Crores of rupees of public money are wasted by the BJP-led government just on publicity.
The BJP government has been playing politics in media but doing nothing for the welfare of the public, he said.
He further said that Congress government conducted ADC election after a long gap but the BJP government has put on hold the election in the name of Covid-19 pandemic.
Similarly, the government has failed to conduct urban local body elections, he said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised to create 2 crore jobs every year but unemployment rate is all time high in his tenure.
The nation is now realising the treacheries of BJP.
It is time the people of the state take a united stand to root out the BJP government from the soil of the state, he said while urging for public support to Congress party in the 2022 state assembly election.
The political conference was also attended by Nambol Block Congress Committee president Lokendro Singh, Nambol Municipal Council ex-chairpersons L Biramani Singh and H .Somorendro Singh, social worker Ch Nabakumar Singh and Bishnupur District Congress Committee ex-president
S Budhachandra Singh.
