TPR rises to 2.5 pc with 23 new cases

Even though there is no report of any Covid related death during the last 24 hours, today's positivity rate (TPR) rose to 2.5 per cent from yesterday's 1.2 per cent.
Out of 923 samples tested for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, 23 were confirmed positive at JNIMS (12) and other testing centres (11), informed a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and Covid-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
The newly infected persons are residents of Imphal East (8), Imphal West (12), Bishnupur (1), Kangpokpi (1) and Chandel (1) .
Imphal East logged the highest daily positivity rate of 5.1 per cent followed by Kangpokpi 4.5 per cent, Imphal West 4 per cent and Chandel 3.8 per cent.
Following recovery, 14 Covid-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (4), JNIMS (4) and CCCs (6) .
The cumulative number of Covid-19 positive cases in the State has reached 1,25,650 (general population 1,21,217 and Central security personnel 4,433) .
It includes 204 active cases (general population 203 and Central security personnel 1) and 1,23,451 recovered cases (general population 1,19,024 and Central security personnel 4,427) .
Whereas the death toll stands at 1995, recovery rate as on Monday is 98.25 per cent.
A total of 252 D-type oxygen cylinders and 77 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State yesterday.
The cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 22,69,924 (first dose 13,11,828 and second dose 9,58,096) .
This figure is inclusive of 1369 doses administered on Sunday.
Out of the State's total eligible population, 56.04 per cent has been given the first dose of Covid vaccine while 40.93 per cent has received both the first and second doses.
Air passengers who travelled to Imphal by AI-889 on December 11 in seat nos 5-11 and 6E-874 on December 12 in seat nos 25-30 have been informed to report to the Common Control Room 1800-345-3818 or respective District Surveillance Officers (DSOs) immediately for further surveillance and necessary quarantine and testing.
