Farmers' training prog held

Central Agricultural University's College of Agriculture and All India Co-Ordinated Research Project on Nematodes on Agriculture organised a training cum interaction programme on 'Awareness Towards Nematodes' for farmers of Kwashiphai on Monday in collaboration with Kwashiphai Farmers' Club.
Speaking at the programme held at Kwashiphai Maning Leikai.
CAU scientist Dr Ksh Sumita explained that Nematodes are minute organisms found in plants, and highlighted importance of Nematodes as well as diseases caused by them.
The training cum awareness programme has been organised as there were reports of presence of Nematodes in vegetable crops grown in Kwashiphai area, she added.
As a part of the programme, an interaction session was held with the farmers along with presentation of a slide show on neem cake manure usage.
Neem cakes were also distributed to 50 farmers at the end of the programme.
