27th National Thang-Ta Championship : Manipur sweep 31 gold medals on Day 3

Manipur collected as many as 39 medals including 31 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze medals on the third day of the 27th National Thang-Ta Championship being underway at Indoor Sports Complex, Jammu.
In the Phunaba Ama event for junior boys, Manipur earned 9 gold courtesy L Ashamani (-44 kg), K Yaiphaba (-48 kg), Sh Roseland (-52 kg), L Oni Singh (-56 kg), Pari Thokchom (-65 kg), Padam Moirangthem (-70 kg), Kiyam Tom Singh (-75 kg), A Lanchenba (-80 kg) and M Bidyasagar Meitei (+80 kg) and a silver medal via Th Badankumar (-60 kg) .
Meanwhile, junior girls bagged as many as 9 gold and 2 bronze medals in the Phunaba Ama events.
The junior girls who fetched gold medals are Ch Asharani (-40 kg), L Anie Devi (-48 kg), A Kemi Devi (-52 kg), H Aleea (-56 kg), Th Piyai (-60 kg), Th Priyanka (-65 kg), L Shelly (-70 kg), Ingalsana Tharoijam (-75 kg) and Ng Ena (+75 kg) while A Dhanapati (-44 kg) and Th Priyangka (-65 kg) won a bronze medal each.
In the Phunaba Anishuba competition, Manipur sub-junior boys won 5 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals.
It were Rionel Hijam (-29 kg), S Vikash (-37 kg), Thomas Thokchom (-41 kg), K Loveson (-53 kg) and N Bikash (+53 kg) who won gold medals as Robert Chanamthabam (-33 kg) and A Pradip (-45 kg) settled for silver medals.
N Loya (-25 kg) and L Lalhaba (-49 kg), in the meantime finished third to bag bronze medals.
In the Phunaba Ama competition for sub-junior girls, State girls clinched 8 gold and 1 silver medal.
N Lamjingbi went down to Muqadas Muskan in the -33 kg category to finish with the silver medal as L Kalpana (-25 kg), L Diana (-29 kg), Milky Athokpam (-37 kg), Jyoti Sunar (-41 kg), K Neha (-45 kg), Sh Priya (-49 kg), N Chanchan Kom (-53 kg) and W Henthoi (+53 kg) won gold medals in their respective weight categories.
