School warns protest over mass transfer

Taking serious note of transferring of all the teaching staff of Moirangpurel High School, which has around 600 students, School Management and Development Committee (SMDC) of the school has warned of launching agitation if the government does not fill up the vacant posts soon.
SMDC member Thounaojam Nabachandra told media persons that the school has around 200 students in the primary section from 1st to 5th standard.
After the government transferred all the teaching staff, the few private teachers hired by Andro MLA Thounaojam Shyamkumar are taking classes.
The upper section, from 6th to 10th standard, has around 380 students.
Recently two primary teachers and one high school teachers were transferred and the latest transfer order came on Monday for the teachers of Science, English and Home Science, he said.
The member further said that the school has been functioning effectively and producing many HSLCE first divisioners.
Besides, it has the track record of cent per cent pass percentage in HSLC examina tion.
Expressing dissatisfaction over mass transfer of teachers, he said that students of the school and their parents will launch intense forms of agitation if the government authority does not send the required teaching staff at the earliest.
