Health Sanitation and Nutrition Day held

As part of 100 days action plan of the state government; District Health Society, Thoubal is continuing to organising Village Health Sanitation and Nutrition Day (VHSND) at various villages in Thoubal district.
To improve and provide access to maternal, neonatal, child, adolescent health and nutrition services at the village level, VHDND was held at Wangkhem village, Palli Bazar Sangaiyumpham and Heirok-III Ngarouthel villages of the district on Friday.
The VHSND event held at Palli Bazar was attended by Thoubal CMO Dr Y Nokul Singh, DPM Ch Basanta Singh, PHC Sangaiyumpham MO Dr Sureiya and DCM Md Riyas Sheikh.
Meanwhile, CHC Heirok senior medical officer in-charge Dr M Nomita Devi, HWC Wangkhem staffer L Kunjeshwori Devi and adolescent health counsellor RK Merina Devi attended the programme held at Wangkhem village.
On the other hand, CHC Heirok MO in-charge Dr Aarti Devi and her team successfully organised the VHSND at Ngarouthel village.
During the programmes, awareness on topics like RMNCH+A, exclusive breastfeeding, immunisation, FP methods, fortified rice, PMMVY, HIV, Syphilis, TB and nutritious food were imparted by resource persons and health officials.
Various activities such as screening of 18+ population, HIV+ testing for pregnant women, RDT testing, distribution of family planning commodities, ANC and PNC check-up, distribution of low cost sanitary pad and registration of PMMVY beneficiaries were carried out along with display on balanced diet food/nutri-tious food easily available in the localities.
Pregnant women, children, adolescent girls participated in the programmes mobilised by ASHAs and Anganwadi workers.
It may be mentioned here similar VHSNDs are being targeted for conduct at 107 village/localities during the first 100 days of the second term of the BJP-led government in the state.
