Massive electoral fraud alleged in ADC polls
House damaged; protestors storm DC office

Imphal, June 03 2015 :
A house belonging to a worker of an Independent candidate of the June 1 ADC polls was attacked and damaged by a group of people atw Teraphai village under Chandel district on Tuesday night.
A Bolero jeep owned by the victim named Moshang Hol (28) was also partially damaged in the attack that occurred around 8 pm, a source said on Wednesday.
The attackers were led by one of the brothers of a Naga People's Front (NPF) candidate from neighbouring Phairen Thaisan village, the source said.
In a separate incident, angry supporters of an Independent candidate stormed the Deputy Commissioner office at Tamenglong district headquarters around 9:20 am on Wednesday.
The protesters numbering about 200 including women demanded the authority that the ballot box for the Chinlon polling station should be handed to them.
Two women were injured in the protest when police fired tear gas shells to quell them, a police report said.
However, the women protesters suffered minor injuries in the police action.
Meanwhile, chairman of Tamenglong ADC Humalibou alleged that polling at 3/1 polling booth under Tamei subdivision took place on the midnight of May 31, a day before the scheduled ADC polls.
Addressing a press meet at the ADC quarters in Khuman Lampak here, Humalibou also said polling at 3/7 booth, 3/4 booth and 3/6 booth under the subdivision were totally mismanaged.
He demanded the State Government and the State Election Commission to invalidate all votes cast at these polling stations.
On the other hand, re-poll has been demanded in respect of 4-Larong Khullen, Part-7 Phiron Khullen and Part-8-Anal Khullen polling stations under 13-Vongku constituency of Chandel district.
A reliable source alleged that almost all ballots had been cast at these polling booths in favour of NPF by threatening the polling agent of Independent candidate D Indrajit.
In yet another incident, all voters from N Mollen village under Saikul ADC were barred from exercising their franchise at 24/4 polling station allegedly by villagers of Sharam Padong.
N Mollen village headman Ngailam Haokip informed this at a press meet here on Wednesday.
He alleged that the polling at this booth took place on the midnight of May 31 .
He drew the attention of the State Government over the issue and demanded a separate polling station for N Mollen.
Haokip said his village would not take part in any election in future if the demands are not fulfilled by the Government.
