Imphal, June 03 2015 :
Voters of N Mollen village in 24-Bongbal Khullen DCC of Sadar Hills ADC have been allegedly deprived of exercising their adult franchise not only in the just concluded ADC election, but also in the last State Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking to reporters here today, Ngailam Haokip, chief of N Mollen village said that voters of her village would refrain from voting in the ensuing repoll slated for June 6, in case a need arises, unless a polling station is arranged for them at their village.
Polling station for Salam Patong, Thangza and N Mollen villages is 24/4 Salam Patong.
She said that voters of her village had travelled about 18 kms to Salam Patong to cast their votes on June 1.However, when they reached the polling station, the voting was already completed.
Ngailam Haokip alleged that some villagers of Salam Patong in collusion with some armed men had resorted to proxy voting and completed casting of votes the night before the polling day.
As such, there is high chance of repoll being ordered in respect of the polling station, she said.
In case of any repoll, the voters of N Mollen will refrain from casting their votes unless a polling station is arranged for them at their village, Ngailam said.
She further said that the same was in the case of last Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
The village falls under Saikul AC.
