28 'dead persons' cast votes in Shingkap

28 expired voters at Shingkap village under 21/1 Shingkap segment, Ukhrul district, had "cast their votes" claimed Henry Keishing, BJP candidate of Shingkap village under 21/1 Singkap Segment and demanded a re-poll at the polling station.
This was exclusively informed to the Hueiyen Lanpao on Wednesday at his present residence located at Tangkhul Avenue, Henry narrated the whole story about the June 1 ADC election in this polling station.
He said that out 522 voters 518 had been cast though the voters were not involved.
He said the voting time was from 7 am.
But it was concluded before 1 pm.
In the morning the 15 well-known BJP supporters tried to enter the polling area but they were prevented from doing so by the NPF supporters and some other unknown persons who were at the entrance.
On receipt of the information the candidate himself went to the polling area.
But he went back after watching the scenario as he could not do anything alone.
Henry informed to his father, Somi who later lodged a complaint with the Ukhrul DC over the phone.
Later Henry and his workers checked up electoral roll.
They found not only 28 dead voters were included in the voters' list but many other students and married families who had settled in the other areas also came to cast their votes.
He also said that all this done in the presence of the two of BJP agents and presiding officer.
And the BJP agents were restrained from going out and threatened by the NPF supporters if they reported the matter to the authorities.
The BJP agent and presiding officers also did nothing and simply remained sitting.
He alleged that NPF workers also tried to assault BJP agent and later two BJP agents slipped from the spot without giving final signature.
Henry has submitted a written complaint to the Ukhrul DC demanding repoll.
