Imphal, June 03 2015 :
Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam is concerned over the possible nexus between the BJP and the NPF, as indicated by the NPF president A.Newmai, contending that the NSCN (IM) has been backing up the NPF candidates.
Talking to reporters on Wednesday he said that it is a fact that the NSCN (IM) has been striving for the vivisection of Manipur.
There may be an action replay of the June 18, 2001 mass upheaval, he warned.
The NSCN (IM) resorted to mass booth capturings, abduction of Congress workers.
He also said that the BJP had used the services of the Zeliangrong United Front to terrorize the people.
These reprehensible actions were done in flagrant violation of ground rules.
If there were free and fair elections the Congress will win comfortable majority.
He said that the visits by the union ministers ahead of the ADC elections will be of no use.
He also did not have anything good to say about the three former MLAs who had later joined the BJP.
Referring to the border dispute at Dzkou valley Gaikhangam said that the government is not remaining silent on the issue.
He disclosed that an action plan is formed and this will soon be sent to the prime minister and the home minister.
On security concerns he declined to disclose further details.
He however said that talks between the two states may begin at the levels of the DC and the SP and he was hopeful that both states shall come to an amicable settlement.
