Two ILP defaulters, contractor fined

Imphal, January 13 2023:
The court of executive magistrate, Imphal West slapped monetary fine against two non-local labourers and a contractor, who brought the labourers into the state, for violation of ILP norms.
The labourers were fined Rs 1,000 each while the contractor was imposed Rs 5,000 each penalty for the two labourers.
As per information received here, a team of Lamphel police station, Imphal West district conducted a drive against ILP defaulters in Sagolband Moirang Hanuba area.
During the drive conducted on Friday, Bidyananda Kumar (24) son of Chandra Ray and Sanjit Kumar Sahni (23) son of Ram Sakai Sahnim, both hailing from Godampati Muzzafarpur, Bihar were pulled up for not complying with the ILP norms.
Bidyananda did not possess ILP pass while Sanjit Kumar Sahni was found holding invalid ILP pass.
Both Bidyananda Kumar and Sanjit Kumar Sahni were produced before the court of executive magistrate, Imphal West L Sanathoi and the court released them on execution of PR bond with a fine of Rs 1,000 each.
Being first-time offenders, the court advised them to follow ILP norms and possess valid ILP passes from relevant administrative office.
As penalty, the court made the contractor who brought the two labourers into the state to pay a fine of Rs 5,000 each for the two non-local labourers.
