CSOs still active: PANDM

The Peoples' Action for National Democratic Movement (PANDM) observed its 13th foundation day at Uripok.
At the observance, PANDM president Yumnamcha Dilipkumar conveyed that the leading role of the civil organisations is to highlight the issues of the State and grievances of the people for the Government to intervene and find solutions.
Saying that a section of people think CSOs in Manipur have lost their dynamism, Dilipkumar assured that they (CSOs) will come to the forefront whenever the need arises.
He also said that the Government can never silence the CSOs.
Dilipkumar continued that PANDM also played a major role in standing against Citizenship Amendment Bill (now Act) and implementation of Inner Line Permit System in Manipur by forming MANPAC (Manipur People Against Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016).Saying that they have been urging the State Government to fix 1951 as the base year for identifying non locals, strengthen the ILP guidelines, establish Manipur State Population Commission and find a solution for the boundary issue among others.
Dilipkumar rued that Central leaders visiting the State like tourists will not solve anything.
He appealed to the Government to understand me sentiments of the people and work accordingly.
Saying that PANDM distributed edibles to the old age home at Oinam Kangjeibung.
Dilipkumar conveyed that inmates at the home were found living in a very miserable condition.
He appealed to the Government to extend some sort of assistance to the home.
Dilipkumar also said that PANDM also distributed edibles for inmates at Senior Citizen's Home at Kumbi Khullakpam Leikai.
