Cell opened for Manipuris stranded in Ukraine

Imphal, February 26 2022:
The state government has set up a Cell in the Home Department to liaise with the Union Ministry of External Affairs in assisting the parents/relatives of Manipuri citizens stranded in crisis-hit Ukraine, and to bring them back to India.
In an office memorandum issued on Saturday, special secretary (Home) H Gyan Prakash mentioned that the said Cell will function from Room No 186 of Old Secretariat, Imphal (Phone No 0385-2450981) from 9 am to 8 pm every day including holidays.
Calls beyond this period in case of emergency may be made to Police Control Room - 0385-2451100 .
The Cell will be manned by joint secretary Rehanuddin Choudhury (9436034077), deputy secretaries Peter Salam (7005257760), Dr Th Charanjeet Singh (7005521858) and Roji Rajkumari (9089264355) with assistance of S Rudra Narayan Singh, inspector O Ajit Singh, M Joykumar Singh, A Perkimjit, Naresh Ningombam and Thangmilian Hangshing of Home Department, it informed.
The memo also conveyed that parents and relatives can send the detailed particulars of their children stranded in Ukraine with contact number to email address - [email protected] with cc to [email protected].
The officers and deputy resident commissioner L H Ngathingshim will share the information received relating to stranded Manipuri citizens and contact the designated officers of Union Ministry of External Affairs and also disseminate information to the parents and relatives on the steps taken up and being taken up by the Ministry for their expeditious evacuation.
