Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme held

A one day Integrated Communication & Outreach Programme (ICOP) on Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) was organised by Regional Outreach Bureau, Imphal under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting at Thoubal Athokpam, Thoubal District today.
Leimapokpam Romen Singh, president of DLCYC club, Thoubal Athokpam presided the event while Thongam Ranjit Singh, BLO and Dr Pukhrambam Kiranbala, BLO attended as guest of honours, said a release issued by ROB Imphal.
During the programme, various topics including informed choice, ethical voting, inclusive and accessible election, use of cVigil App, Know Your Candidate (KYC) App, Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT), model code of conduct and Covid Appropriate Behaviour while going out to vote were discussed with the participants which consisted mainly of first time voters who are going to vote during the 2nd phase of Manipur Assembly Election, 2022 .
As part of the event, a quiz contest on Election Quotient was also held and prizes along with certificates were distributed.
M/s Kangleipak Musical Association, Thoubal a Private Registered Troupe (PRT) of ROB, Imphal, played the theme song on SVEEP.
Similarly, FOB Chandel also organised an ICOP On SVEEP today at Japhou Village Community Hall in Chandel Block, Chandel District.
It was attended by Ng Maipakngam, chief of Japhou village; K Shangkham, senior lecturer Maha Union Hr Sec School; Micky Victor, general secretary Sirti Upa Ruh and Dearson Tontang, SVEEP Nodal Officer Chandel as presidium members, said a release issued by FOB Chandel.
During the event, publicity materials along with masks and sanitizers were distributed and a quiz competition was also conducted.
Moreover, the Field Outreach Bureau, Senapati also conducted a one day ICOP on SVEEP yesterday at Kholep village, Kangpokpi District.
It was attended by Kaithang Haokip, chairman of Kholep village and Jangkhohling, Headmistress of UJB School, Kholep village as presidium members, said a release issued by FOB Senapati.
Muan Tombing, Nodal Officer, SVEEP Kangpokpi also attended the programme as resource person.
Speaking on the occasion, Waribam Urmila, Field Publicity Officer, FOB Senapati stated that the ICOP was organised to create awareness among the people about the general electoral process before the upcoming elections.
Elaborating on SVEEP, Muan Tombing mentioned that voter turnout was very less in Kangpokpi District and encouraged the young voters especially, to turn up in large numbers and take part in the decision making of the Government.
He also urged the people to have trust in the election machinery and stated that the election department is working very hard to ensure that the electoral process goes smoothly and ethically.
During the programme, M/S Thang-Ta & Cultural Research Academy, a Private Registered Troupe under Regional Outreach Bureau, Imphal performed three different items of Thang-Ta and one stick dance.
Later, a quiz competition was also conducted and prizes distributed.
