Imphal, June 18 2022:
Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) vice president and spokesperson Hareshwar Goswami has slammed chief minister N Biren for his recent remark during the party's executive meet held in Kangpokpi on Friday in which the CM stressed the necessity to follow BJP's philosophy to save Manipur.
Addressing a press meet at Congress Bhawan here on Saturday, Hareshwar compared the CM's remark to attempt to convert Manipur into a Hindu state.
Public know the philosophy of BJP.
The party's leaders and think tanks like Dr BS Munje, Damodar Savarkar, Keshav Baliram, Madhav Rao, and Deen Dayal Upadhyay believed in Hindutva and it is the path they laid that the BJP is following today, he said.
Dr BS Munje was a key leader of Hindu Mahasabha of RSS.
He met fascist Prime Minister of Italy Benito Mussolini in 1937 and brought in theories, ideas and doctrines of Fascism in the country.
During the BJP rule in 2003, the BJP government put up a portrait of Damodar Savarkar opposite to the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi.
Savarkar is believed to be involved in the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi.
Deen Dayal Upadhyay, who founded Bharatiya Jan Sangha in 1951, which later converted into BJP in 1980, was a strong supporter of Hidutva philosophy.
The main objective of the party's leaders is one nation one religion despite the fact that the country is has multiple religions.
Their leaders also raised strong objection while adopting the current national flag.
They tried to depict the green colour in the national flag as a symbol of Muslim while raising objection against the colour.
They also raised objection against the use of Ashoka Chakra stating that Ashoka was a follower of Buddhism.
Till today, BJP leaders and workers are opposing the term secular enshrined in the Constitution of India.
Those leaders did not participated in the Quit India Movement of 1942.There are also reports of Hindutva believers celebrating the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, Hareshwar said.
He further questioned the achievement of the BJP government in the last eight years and said that demonetisation failed to bring back black money.
The infamous three farm bills were withdrawn only after claiming lives of several farmers and it is considered as dark days in the modern history of India.
BJP has also failed to resolve Kashmir issue.
India had cordial relationship with neighbouring countries, except Pakistan and China.
Unfortunately, such healthy relationship is degrading under the rule of BJP.
It has also failed to deliver the promise of transferring Rs 15 lakh to every citizen's account and create two crore jobs every year.
The party's government is misappropriating huge fund in the name of cleaning Ganga, he said while alleging the BJP government of failing to enact Lokpal Bill.
At the same time, the state is also at the verge of facing overdraft situation.
The state government has failed to provide salary for its employees in time.
The BJP government is claiming of integrating the state but they seem to forget that the 15 years of Congress rule took up several initiatives to bring development in the hills to strengthen the hill valley unity.
Several festivals based in hill districts were organised by the Congress government, he said while adding that there was no enmity or disunity between hills and valley during the Congress rule.
On the other hand, BJP government at the Centre tried to disintegrate the state by extending ceasefire agreement with NSCN-IM without territorial limit resulting in a huge public uprising in which 18 martyrs sacrificed their lives.
In 2015 too, the Framework Agreement created a rift in the hill-valley unity, he noted.
While hailing the government's War on Drugs campaign, Hareshwar urged the government to continue the good initiative until the issue of drug menace is rooted out from the state.
He recalled a statement of BJP MLA L Rameshwar regarding involvement of bureaucrats and some high profile persons in the drug trade and asked if the government has taken up any steps to identify those high profile persons in the illegal drug trades.
He also expressed possibilities of these individuals joining BJP in order to escape the crackdown.
