Modi Govt shouldn't invite Delhi-like youth uprising in Manipur: MPCC

Imphal, July 25 2026: The "Modi Government" should learn lessons from the Jantar Mantar protests and not invite a similar uprising of the youths in Manipur, said Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) general secretary Seram Neken today.

Even after three years of violent conflict, the BJP-led Government is unable to resolve the conflict, restore normalcy and bring peace to Manipur.

It must understand that the public can't be suppressed for long.

It should do what it is expected of, Neken said in a statement.

On the Jantar Mantar protests against NEET paper leak, Neken said the resignation of the Union Education Minister is a win for the youths and the Nation.

Dharmendra Pradhan submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi today amid mounting pressure by protesters in Delhi.

While the resignation of the Union Minister is a win for the Nation's youths and students, it should have come sooner, Neken said.

Had the Union Education Minister taken moral responsibility early, it could have avoided escalating the protests and saved many student protesters from being hurt grievously, he said.

The brutal crackdown and the use of excessive force on protesters was unfortunate and condemnable, he said.
