AR nabs armed Naga rebels

Dimapur, May 05 2014:
Assam Rifles have apprehended armed persons from Nagaland in the past few days.
According to PRO-IGAR(North), an NSCN-Khole/Kitovi cadre was apprehended on May 2 by personnel of 29 Assam Rifles from Dimapur.
It said based on specific information an operation was launched by troops of 29 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters 6 Sect AR during which an armed cadre of NSCN (K-K) was apprehended from Super Market near Saramati Hotel in Dimapur.
He was in possession of one 7.65mm pistol and assorted ammunition and consequently arrested.
The individual was identified as Mr H Akato Zhimo, 33 years, from Hotovi, Dimapur.
The apprehended individual was later handed over to the East Police Station, Dimapur, claimed the PRO-IGAR(North).
In a separate incident, based on specific information a search operation was launched by troops of 37 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters 6 Sect AR and apprehended an armed miscreants near NIT Complex, in Chumukedima village in Dimapur and an individual identified as Mr Longri Anthony Yimchunger (26), son of Mr Muthrong Andrew of Chumukedima village was apprehended for he was possessing one .22 automatic pistol, live rounds and two fired cases.
On questioning, individual revealed that he was carrying the wpn with the purpose of selling it, the PRO-IGAR(North) said.
Subsequently, on search of his house, three barrels of .22 Rifle were also recovered.
The individual was handed over to Diphupar Police Station alongwith recovery, it added.
In continuation of its efforts to enforce the Cease Fire Ground Rules and its parameters especially weeding out extortion related activities in Nagaland 11 Assam Rifles apprehended one such extortionist collecting tax from civil loaded trucks at Mission Colony Pfutsero town, claimed the PRO-IGAR(North).
The FGN cadre Mr Acii Vadeo, s/o Dasucho, 37 years hails from Puruba village, Phek district, (Nagaland).
On searching the individual cash Rs.13750 was recovered.
The individual alongwith recovered items handed over to the police and FIR lodged at Pfutsero Police station, the PRO-IGAR(North) claimed.
