Imphal, May 05 2014:
The approach road to Sekmai LPG bottling plant has been closed once again since May 3 after the same mode of agitation was suspended for some period earlier.
The Awang Sekmai Nongthonband Youth Club has been demanding proper maintenance and development of the IVR which connects the LPG bottling plant to Imphal-Dimapur highway and it is in pursuit of the same demand that the approach road was closed for the second time this year.
Talking to media persons, president of the club Maharabam Opendro said that they took recourse to the same mode of agitation last month too and it was suspended at the assurance of the State Government for early repairing.
Saying that the assurance has not been fulfilled till date, Opendro said that they would not talk with the Government any more and the road would be blocked indefinitely until it is repaired properly.
The same club blocked the road from April 1 to 3 .
The agitation was suspended after holding a meeting between representatives of the club and CAF&PD Minister M Okendro on April 3.Subsequently, an MoU was signed between the two parties on April 12 .
The deadline set by the Government for repairing the road was April 19.As there was no sign of the Government repairing the IVR, a reminder was sent on April 26 but it failed to move the Government.
"Now we would not talk with the Government", Opendro said.
