Stone crushers bombarded, 3 hurt

Imphal, May 05 2014:
Two stone crushing centres were bombarded with explosives by some unknown persons during the past 24 hours leaving women labourers injured.
One hand grenade exploded at a stone crushing centre at Thoubal Kiyam Siphai at around 4.30 am today.
The blast left three women labourers injured.
The injured victims have been identified as Ningthoujam Kamla (40) w/o Ingocha of Thoubal Kiyam Siphai, Laishram Pakpi (45) w/o late Chourajit of Thoubal Kiyam Siphai and Wahengbam Sana (40) w/o late Inaobi of Thoubal Sabaltongba.
Sana sustained injuries on right ear, shoulder and thigh.
Kamala was hit by shrapnel on the neck and stomach while Pakpi was scratch by shrapnel on the right arm.
While Sana and Kamala were taken to RIMS, Pakpi was treated at Thoubal district hospital.
Denouncing the bomb attacks labourers working in the stone crushing centre and local people staged a protest demonstration.
The stone crushing centre is being run by one Oinam Hemlet of Thoubal Kiyam Siphai.
Another stone crushing centre located at Nungkao, Tamenglong district under Tousem police station was attacked by some unidentified persons using explosives at around 10 last night.
However, there is no report of casualty.
The stone crushing centre is being run by a private engaged in the construction work of Jiri-Tupul railway line under North East Frontier Railway.
