Meet on Banking held at GM Hall

Creating awareness on banking literacy and facilities available to customers, the Banking Ombudsman, Reserve Bank of India, Guwahati in collaboration with Axis Bank organized a Town Hall Meet on Banking (Customers' Awareness Programme) at GM Hall here today.
Addressing the gathering, Anand Prakash, General Manager of Banking Ombudsman Reserve Bank of India, Guwahati stated that any bank customers who face inconvenience in financial transaction under Reserve Bank of India (RBI) can file complaint to RBI under the Banking Ombudsman Scheme, 2006 through writing or on internet and informed that there is already an office in Guwahati where people of northeastern States could file complaint.
Saying that 7000 complaints were received from different parts of the country last year including 807 from Manipur, he stressed on the need for creating awareness on banking system and redressing the grievances faced by customers to accelerate the growth of banking system in the country.
