Unconditional release demanded

Imphal, May 05 2014:
Demanding unconditional release of Khumukcham Berlin (17) of Awang Leikin Thabi, Wahengbam Thoinao (17) of Maharabi and Nilkamal (14) of Yumnam Huidrom who were jailed for their alleged involvement in killing of a priest namely Sagolshem Yaima of Maiba Khul Mamang on March 18 last, locals of Awang Leikin Thabi along with members of the JAC formed in connection with the arrest took out a protest rally today.
The rally started from Lamlong Bazar and headed headed towards the Chief Minister's bungalow to submit a memorandum.
However, the protestors were stopped by security personnel at Telipati Ahongei Pung.
Later, three representatives were allowed to go and submit the memorandum.
The memorandum demanded unconditional release of the trio within three days and warned of launching more intense agitation in case of failure.
