Imphal, September 25 2014:
Manipur BJP president Th Chaoba chided the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) on Thursday, accusing it of letting a dissident group of the state saffron party revolt against him from New Delhi.
A rebel group of his party supported by MPCC has been camping in the national capital for more than four months to lobby with the BJP national leadership to oust him, Chaoba alleged while speaking on the occasion of 94th birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhya at the BJP office.
He said political leaders usually cannot stay at Manipur Bhavan, New Delhi no longer than one week.
He accused the Congress Government headed by O Ibobi Singh of cooperating with the rebel group to plot against him so as to remove him from his post.
Referring to the allegations levelled against him over taking a huge bribe of Rs 1 crore to advise against removal of Dr L Sekharjit, a former Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Director, from his post and also to prevent CBI investigation against him, Chaoba said he would not remain silent on the matter.
Some members of his party are also taking part in the conspiracy against him, he charged, but said he would forgive them if they are willing to settle the matter with him.
