National Sanitation campaign launched

The National sanitation campaign under Swachh Bharat Mission was launched in Chandel District at the district head quarters by Deputy Commissioner of Chandel Robert Singh Kshetrimayum today.
A rally was also held where Chandel SDO Kilu Siva Kumar Naidu, about 300 school students and teachers, representatives of the CSOs including CNPO led by its president Ws Kanral Anal, Chandel CMO and its officials, officials from the ZEO, PHED and Japhou bazaar authority chairman Js Angam participated in it.
Banners and placards based on sanitation issues were held by the students during the rally The rally was flagged off from the DC complex and preceded towards Japhou Bazar super market complex where a public gathering was held.
Chandel DC Robert Singh Kshetrimayun and others dignitaries gave an awareness speech during the gathering.
Meantime, the National Sanitation campaign was also launched in Ukhrul district under NBA at the DRDA conference hall Mini Secretariat, Ukhrul.
Deputy Commissioner, Ukhrul Hrishikeesh Modak inaugurated the programme which was held in the afternoon.
The DC, Ukhrul speaking at the occasion highlighted the various pipeline programmes under the district administration and the action plan for Swachh Bharat mission.
The Mission Sanitation is a people's movement for success and materialization.
It focuses on cleaning the solid and liquid management, build and use toilet, need of hand washing, safe disposal of child faeces, storage of drinking water.
The SDO, Ukhrul Worshang Hungyo, Christian Home Huileng and other District levels officer attended the launching programme.
More than one thousand members including villages' chairmen, women and student attended the event and the rally.
The Deputy Commissioner, Ukhrul along with his officials of the district led the rally.
The Campaign was also launched in Lamka, Churachandpur district followed by a campaign rally which was flagged off from the DC office around 11AM today.
Stating that photos of daily events at the district level will be uploaded through the NIC website during the entire exercise, the DC PK Jha claimed that the campaign would last till October 23.The month long exercise will witness cleanliness and IEC campaigns in government offices, local bodies, PHCs, Police Station and Schools between September 26 to 30, while at the village level the exercises will be carried out through the MGNREGS.
On October 2, undertaking of pledge (Swachhta Shapath) would be held at several places while on October 7 District Level Painting Competition and Street Play would be organized for government and private institutions.
On Oct 15 World Hand Washing Day would be observed.
The entire exercise would end on October 23 with distributions of prizes and a grand closing ceremony.
Besides the district's DC and SP, Chairman of ADC Churachandpur Langkhanpau Guite, other ADC members and DLOs joined today's nation-wide event.
National Sanitation Campaign which is set to be celebrated nation wide has launched in Kiyamba Ningshing Shanglen for Bishnupur district today.
The month long campaign is organised by Bishnupur District Water Sanitation Committee and SEHDO, Bishnupur.
DC Jason A Shimray and up Adhakshya of Bishnupur Zilla Parishad S Brojen was the Chief Guest and president of the function respectively.
EE of the PHED Bishnupur Division and Bishnupur District Water Sanitation Committee and member secretary O Meino, ZEO Zone- IV K Yaima, SP Bishnupur N Herojit, Retired CMO Dr Modhumangol and AE of PHED L Gokulchandra were the Guest of Honour of the function too.
National Sanitation Campaign under Swachh Bharat was launched in Imphal West and Imphal East districts today.
In Imphal West district, a rally of elected leaders of different Gram Panchayats, NGO representatives and school teachers was taken out after the campaign was launched by DC K Radhakumar at DC office complex, Lamphelpat.
K Radhakumar while speaking at the launching function said that the campaign was initiated with an aim to keep toilets neat and clean and prevent outbreak of water borne diseases.
In Imphal East, the launching function was attended by DC Joy and SP Angam Kamei Romanus.
A rally was taken out as part of the launching function.
Police personnel conducted a cleanliness drive along DC road and Ananda Singh Higher Academy.
The campaign will continue till October 23 .
