There is no controversy in the AITC and for that matter MPTCC's party symbol 'flower and grass', said MPTCC spokesman P Premananda.
Speaking to media persons at their Moirangkhom office today, Premananda claimed that ECI Under Secretary Pramod Kumar Sharma sent a letter to the AITC Chairman and the CEOs of all the States on October 10, 2012 declaring that flower and grass was the reserved symbol of AITC.
Form A submitted by AITC General Secretary Mukul Roy to the State CEO and the Hiyanglam RO on September 21 with regard to the Hiyanglam by-poll gave permission to use the party's reserved symbol.
For MPTCC which is a constituent unit of AITC, there is no controversy over its election symbol, Premananda said.
Dr Y Radheshyam has been given the party's ticket in accordance with the party's constitution together with Form A.This imply that there is no controversy over the party's symbol.
MPTC president Kh Joykisan's claim that AITC symbol cannot be used by other parties or candidates cannot befool the public.
Copies of a letter allegedly written by four suspended MLAs to General Secretary Mukul Roy on July 7 pledging their support to newly appointed president Th Shyamkumar in place of Kim Gangte, and seeking revocation of their suspension orders were also distributed to the media persons.
