Naga seniors irked by Home Minister Rijiju's statement, submit memo to PM

Strongly reacting to the statement of Minister of state for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju during the election campaign in Hiyanglam assembly constituency, several Naga leaders have today submitted a memorandum to the prime minister to take a fresh look to the entire Naga issue and come to a logical conclusion.
The memorandum signed jointly by Naga Senior Citizens from Dimapur in Nagaland said Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State, Home Affairs, during the bye-election campaign for the BJP candidate Maibam Dhanabir in Manipur's Thoubal district, stated that "BJP government at center would not allow the ongoing peace talks with NSCN(IM) to jeopardize Manipur's territorial integrity" .
"The statement of the minister will jeopardize the peace talk between the two entities as there is no meeting point for solution of the longest revolutionary insurgency in the world without bringing all the Naga inhabited territories under one single umbrella administrative setup which is also a constitutional commitment of GOI under the Sixteen Points Agreement of 1960 while granting Nagaland as the 16th state of Indian union", the memorandum asserted.
The memorandum signed by Former Finance Minister T.A Ngullie, Ex-MLA Bendangangshi, Rural Economist & Environmentalist D.K Zeliang, President, Council of Naga Baptist Churches Rev.L.Bizo, Rtd.
