Two injured in truck mishap

Imphal, October 14 2014:
Two persons sustained serious injuries after a Tata 407 mini truck loaded with 75 urea bags lost control and fell off a 200 feet deep gorge near Mahadev Junction along Imphal-Ukhrul road at 7 pm yesterday.
The injured persons have been identified as Ningmayung Angkang of Sanakeithel, owner of the urea bags and driver of the mini truck, Md Abir Khan (25) of Mayang Imphal Bengoon.
Later, they were rescued by police and Assam Rifles personnel with the help of the villagers of Jalenbung and Shangkai.
The rescue was carried out by a team of 3 policemen led by Litan Police Station OC Inspector N Manikanta and a team of 16 AR personnel.
They were rescued around 10 pm yesterday, approximately three hours after the accident.
Angkang is being treated at JNIMS while Abir Khan is battling for life at RIMS ICU.
