He requested the Muslim voters of Konuma area, which has around 500 voters, to collectively support the Congress candidate in the by-election.
Saying that voters of Konuma have always been the deciding factor in past elections in the Constituency, the Chief Minister requested them to back the Congress this time too.
Regarding opening of bank accounts and transferring of Rs 5000 each to these accounts as promised by BJP State President Th Chaoba, the Chief Minister questioned whether this amount would be transferred from BJP fund.

They are speaking lots of things which leaders must not do, Gaikhangam said and added that he feels pity for them.
Contending that bringing film actors and singers in election campaigns would not bring any positive changes, Gaikhangam said that it is not fair on the part of the BJP President to tinge the artistes with the saffron colour.
