Imphal, October 14 2014:
The proscribed United Revolutionary Front (URF), in a statement issued today, has demanded immediate solution to the present crises, failing which the Front would take up extreme actions against the government.
According to the statement issued by the Chairman of URF Lanheiba Meitei, the outfit would be compelled to take up extreme action against the Government if the present crisis is not resolved at the earliest.
The URF cadres would not mind being branded as "terrorists" for demanding their rights.
The State Government has been trying to convert the tripartite peace talks with the URF into a mass surrender.
The outfit has been forced to sign the agreement and its cadres have been sheltered in a jail-like compound with no provision for rehabilitation and employment.
The cadres have been forced into drug addiction in the absence of a proper policy as promised by the Government prior to the signing of the tripartite agreement.
In the statement, the URF has also branded State Home Minister Gaikhangam as a "bluff-master" who has failed to perform his responsibility.
The Government is deliberately trying to derail the peace talks.
The URF is always prepared to face any eventuality if the tripartite peace talks fail, it said.
