Imphal, October 14 2014:
Claiming that a number of Congress Ministers and MLAs have turned into crorepattis overnight, State unit president of the BJP Th Chaoba said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started probing the assets of Congress Ministers and MLAs.
Fitting action will be taken up against the unscrupulous people, he added.
Th Chaoba said this while addressing an election rally for the by poll to Hiyanglam Assembly Constituency.
The by election will be held on October 17 and the State BJP wound up its election campaign today one day ahead in view of the general strike set to come into force from midnight today.
Addressing the people, Chaoba said that Congress Ministers and MLAs have not declared their assets openly because the Committee set up to allow them to announce their assets has been put in cold storage.

Continuing with his onslaught against the Congress, Chaoba questioned whether the people of Hiyanglam are amenable to the announcement of the Chief Minister in his nomination paper that his landed wealth is about Rs 18 lakh.
Fitting action would be initiated against such elements, announced Chaoba and added that the matter has already been intimated to the Prime Minister.
Instead on doing anything to increase the income of the State during the last 13 years of his Chief Ministership, Ibobi has only been in interested in lining his pockets by dipping his hands into the funds allocated for the development of the State, charged Chaoba.
Lampooning the Congress Government for neglecting film artistes and singers, Chaoba said that a number of such artistes are today supporting the BJP because the party has taken the primary role of trying to ensure that the proposed Film Institute to be set up in the North East comes to Manipur.
Trying to touch a chord with the people, Th Chaoba questioned how many times has the Chief Minister visited Hiyanglam.
He also questioned whether the Chief Minister has done anything for the people and how many have been provided with Government jobs.
If the BJP candidate Maibam Dhanabir is elected then the Chief Minister is sure to visit him to get the okay for any project, said Chaoba.
It is important for the people of Hiyanglam to vote for the BJP candidate so as to keep pace with the changing political dynamics in the country, said Chaoba.
