Leela Festival: 'Shirui Lily' bags Best Production

The results of the Nupi (Female) Shumang Leela category of the ongoing 51st All Manipur Shumang Leela Festival 2022-23 organised by Manipur State Kala Akademi at Th Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen, Palace Compound were declared on Saturday.
Altogether 13 Nupi Shumang Leela groups participated in the festival.
Malom Panthoibi Artistes' Association bagged the Best Production title for its contemporary play, 'Shirui Lily' .
The Western Cultural Association won the Second Best Production for its play, 'Phambal' while The Kangjabi Meitei Chanu Artistes' Cum Drama Association won the Third Best Production for 'Tamna'.
Taothong Women's Dance & Dramatic Union, which performed the play, 'Luwang Chanu Piyainu' was named the Best Disciplined Team.
Y Somita Devi, who directed the play 'Shirui Lily' was named the Best Director and Iboyaima Khuman the Second Best Director for the play, 'Phambal' while the Best and Second Best Script awards were bagged by Haobam Tomba for 'Tamna' and Athokpam Tomchou for 'Shirui Lily' respectively.
Ksh Sushma Devi was named the Best Actor for the role of Kritichandra in 'Phambal'; Th Manjita the Second Best Actor for the role of Nongdrenkhomba in 'Tamna'; Th Lilabati the Best Actress for the role of Kuranganayani in 'Phambal' and S Roshni the Second Best Actress for the role of Lily in 'Shirui Lily'.
K Sangita won the Best Supporting Actor title for her role of Ragh Moran in 'Phambal'; Y Somita the Second Best Supporting Actor for the role of Awo Luingam in 'Shirui Lily'; S Indurekha Best Supporting Actress for the role of Kamlabari in 'Phambal'; and Laishram Mangita Leima Second Best Supporting Actress or the role of Maisnam Kumudini in 'Inthoklabi' (The New World Artistes' Academy) .
Meanwhile, L Thambal, who played Bhabuli in 'Phambal', won the Best Actor in Comic Role, and Y Ashalata, who played Selloipu in 'Petanga' (Women for Culture) won Second Best Actor in Comic Role.
Baby N Priya bagged the Best Child Artiste award for the role of Tampha in 'Tamna'; while Baby Khelbish Meitram won Second Best Child Artiste for the role of Tampha in Namul Khambi' (The Women's Art and Cultural Association) .
